The harder I try to create peace around me
The more chaos is stirred in my heart
The chaos of frustration, resentment and anger
When the world doesn’t play by my rules
“In this life you will have trouble, but fear not, I have overcome the world.”
This world and the part we play in it is beautiful. Yes, there is brokenness, but I want to look for the beauty of our redemption in it. The Lord has made all things new, even as He is in the process of making us new.
Join me in looking for the beauty in life through thoughts and poems. I am so glad you are here.
The harder I try to create peace around me
The more chaos is stirred in my heart
The chaos of frustration, resentment and anger
When the world doesn’t play by my rules
When you get discouraged
Please remember
That God never lets the corruption
Distract him from determining the sun to rise each morning
Isn’t it funny that they start to hear you
When you find your voice
When you finally speak up
Isn’t it funny that they make room for you
When you start to take up space
In this season of transition, there is a great kindness. Many moments of the day I am in over my head. Many moments of the day I wonder where the time went. Days pass by in relative monotony. Yet so many moments where I lack so much. Patience, energy, strength, kindness, compassion, discipline… to name a few. It also feels as if I lack the time to get even the most mundane tasks done, not to mention sit and spend with the one who supplies all other needs.
But the thing is that sometimes the situation is just difficult. Sometimes to our human perspective there are no good options and what we are left with feels less than satisfactory.
But God’s will always wins out.
And we ask “why?”
Because we need to find a reason
We need something to reassure there is a purpose
That God is present
The journey is sanctifying
The destination is certain
He leads in the way of the divine
With no hurry or rush
What if the worst doesn’t happen
What if it actually goes pretty well
What if the risk is worth it
Many people have acknowledged the illegitimacy of the phrase “God will not give you more than you can handle”. But as with many things, we can often say it, believe that it is true, but have a difficult time walking thru things in real life.
But just to be clear, God does in fact give you more than you can handle.
It is easy to say God is good
His timing is perfect
When steps are moving forward
Toward your desired goal
Your desired timeline
But what about when steps are stalled
